How to Sell Your House
and Get the Price You Want
Before putting their property on the
market, homeowners should consult a real estate agent and determine
what repairs and cleaning need to be done. They should choose a
reputable agent with knowledge of the local market; and that
professional's marketing plan should include the multiple listing
service, newspapers, the Internet, and open houses to reach the most
prospective buyers. Most importantly, the home should be
realistically priced; otherwise, it will remain unsold.
Sellers should avoid agents who want to sell the home without an
extensive marketing plan. Finally, they should make it easy for
buyers to view the home by making themselves scarce during showings
and open houses.
